Mozart1st-3rd Grade Orchestra
The Mozart level beginner string orchestra is for 1st-3rd graders who have never played a string instrument before as well as students who have 1-2 years of experience. If your student is just beginning or wants to learn how to play a string instrument, the Mozart level is perfect for your child. There will be a combination of beginner pedagogy instruction and repertoire that will culminate in an end of the year performance. Students will be trained using Bornoff pedagogy and pre-Suzuki and Suzuki book 1 repertoire. By the end of the year, the students will begin to explore level 1 orchestra repertoire. Mozart students are highly encouraged to take private string lessons although it is not a requirement. Students will have several performing opportunities throughout the year both as a Mozart orchestra and with the other Trinity orchestras. Class will meet Thursdays, 2:30-3:15.

Haydn4th-6th Grade Orchestra
The Haydn level beginner string orchestra is for 4th-6th graders who have never played a string instrument before as well as students who have 1-2 years of experience. Since the Haydn level consists of older students, the pacing of this class is faster than the Mozart beginner orchestra. We will immediately start in Suzuki book 1 repertoire and be playing level 2 orchestral repertoire by the end of the year as well as diving into beginner theory and music history. Students will have several performing opportunities throughout the year both as a Haydn orchestra and with the other Trinity orchestras. Class will meet Mondays, 2:30pm-3:15pm. 5th and 6th grade string students who have a minimum of 1 year of playing experience may audition to be a part of the Copland: 7th-8th grade orchestra, which meets on Wednesdays from 3:15-4:00pm. Contact sblanton@trinityacademy.com to schedule an audition.

Copland7th-8th Grade Orchestra
