Mary Kate Ayers is a junior who loves guitar, tennis, singing, teaching guitar lessons, and hanging out with her friends and family. She is singing a duet this year with Virginia Young, one of her guitar students. Mary Kate first performed on the Trinity Academy stage in 2012 with her pink electric guitar and sang “I’ll Fly Away!” She has grown so much as an artist since that first experience and has performed many other times for Night of the Arts and other events. Her favorite scripture is I Corinthians 13:4-8. She is a member of our State Champion Women’s Tennis Team, serves as spiritual life prefect, and has attended Trinity Academy since kindergarten. Her favorite Trinity memories are the countless laughs and stories told at the lunch table with all her friends, and the class trip to Washington D.C. in 8th grade.

Virginia Young is a third grader in Ms. Gunnel’s class who loves all things musical. She began taking piano lessons in kindergarten but found an old guitar in the basement last fall and wanted to learn to play.  Mary Kate Ayers has been her instructor since October 2020 and she’s been playing and singing daily ever since. Virginia’s other interests include playing basketball, riding horses and playing with her dog, Moses. She is thrilled not only to have her first Night of the Arts performance, but to get to do so with her teacher, Mary Kate Ayers, makes it all the more special!
