Mrs. Rutherford has been teaching at Trinity Academy since 2013. She was born and raised in Indiana and graduated from Cincinnati Christian University with a BS in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in Christian Education. She received her MA in Education from the University of Kentucky specializing in reading and writing, and began her teaching career in Kentucky in 1994 as a reading specialist. She took a break from her career to teach and raise her own three children. She returned to teaching professionally in 2006 and has both public and private school experience in North Carolina. Mrs. Rutherford attends and serves as a vocalist on the worship team at Dayspring Christian Church in Knightdale where her husband, Dan Rutherford, is the minister. Her family shares her love of music with all of her children playing at least two instruments, including piano, guitar, percussion, violin, and harp. She is excited to teach at Trinity Academy where she can integrate faith with her teaching and can focus on forming her students’ hearts, as well as shaping their minds. She is grateful to serve and be a part of our community.
