Julie’s fifth grade teacher seized a special moment and changed her life forever. God gave this teacher precious words that set Julie’s life in the direction to become a teacher. Julie discovered her love for math when she was introduced to Alegbra l in the 8th grade. The exciting world of factoring, polynomials, systems of equations, and more came to life and Julie was enthralled that there was far more to math than decimals, fractions and percents!
Awarded a North Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship, Julie graduated from NCSU (go Pack!) with two BS degrees: mathematics education and pure mathematics. Prior to having a family, she spent several years teaching at Garner Senior High School and was instrumental in developing their “Ninth Grade Academy”. Prior to teaching at Trinity, Julie spent her days homeschooling her own children, teaching within Classical Conversations as a Challenge 2 Director, tutoring students needing assistance in elementary math up through Pre-calculus, and working as a part-time bookkeeper.
Julie, and her husband, Robert are the proud parents of three young adults and one teenager. Their oldest is currently at NCSU majoring in Mechanical Engineering and their twins are in college pursuing engineering and medicine degrees. Their youngest, John is currently enrolled at Trinity Academy.
In what little spare time she has, Julie loves reading, binge-watching tv series on Netflix, walking, exercising and spending time with her husband. Julie and her family attend Hephzibah Baptist Church in Wendell.
