It was exciting to welcome all of our students to campus this week for their first day of school! Thank you all for your patience with morning and afternoon carpool – the next few days will continue to present a few challenges as we continue to settle into a routine. Wednesday is the first day of afternoon carpool without as many athletic practices (there are over 100 students participating in a fall sport) so Wednesday will likely be the final day before routines start to appear.

Important note about these emails

This email was sent using the contact information in RenWeb. If you are not receiving these emails directly from me, you can login to RenWeb and assign yourself as receiving “correspondence” emails. If you are receiving these and do not wish to receive emails of this nature, you can log-in to RenWeb and remove yourself from “correspondence” emails.

Note that correspondence emails are any emails where we are emailing a group – so an email from the teacher, an email from me, or an email sent to a grade level would be sent through RenWeb to those who are marked on your account to receive correspondence.

If you need assistance with adjusting settings in RenWeb, please see the email sent on August 23rd or contact Brad Hodgson at

Art volunteers

One of Trinity’s unsung heroes is Mrs. Heimbach, who has been teaching Art to Trinity’s Lower School students since the first day Trinity opened its doors! Attached to this email is a document that describes a variety of Art Class volunteer opportunities for the whole year. The needs range from washing art smocks (at home at your convenience) to donating simple household items (your junk is Mrs. Heimbach’s treasure). I encourage you to look at the attachment to find a way to support Trinity’s Lower School Art program that works in your schedule. Use the link provided in the attachment to sign up or print this page and send it in with your child. If you have questions, please email Mrs. Heimbach at

Also included as an attachment is an overview of Lower School Art at Trinity Academy in addition to a list of supplies that can be used in the art classroom throughout the year.

How can I know what is happening in the Lower School?

I will send an email, typically like this one, every Friday we are in school. I will bold and underline different main topics with the last topic typically being “Mark your calendars” so that you can easily find it whenever needed. Most emails will be a bit shorter.

There are also many other items that happen throughout the year that cannot make it into this email. I encourage you to follow me on twitter (@mr_breazeale) to see snippets of daily life in the Lower School, including items in grades that you may not hear as much about since you do not have students in that grade level. If you do not have twitter, then you can bookmark the site

At times, various writings or reflections will be posted onto the Lower School Blog. This summer it included a reflection on our theme for the year, a post on “Happiness is Not Our Goal,” and some thoughts after a June faculty field trip. I encourage you to periodically read the different posts as they will help provide insight into more of Trinity Academy, commentary on articles that we think would be of interest to families, or explain some of our procedures and expectations. I also post each weekly email to the blog for future reference.

Our Lower School chapel and assembly time will typically be each Wednesday beginning at 8:05. Please note that if you are late on a Wednesday morning you will likely have to walk your student down to Founders Hall as classes will begin to transition at 8:00. In the “Mark Your Calendar” section I will include information about upcoming chapels or assemblies. While we ask that siblings not attend when you volunteer, when you are joining us as an audience member, younger siblings (or those not enrolled at Trinity Academy) are always welcome to join you! The playground is open in the morning so if you have younger students you are welcome to utilize the playground between drop-off and the start of the assembly or chapel!
